The Village of Middleburgh Board of Trustees are honored to announce that they designated Saturday, August 15th, 2026, as William Ansel-McCabe Day in the Village of Middleburgh in celebration of our former Mayor’s life and service to our local community and in conjunction with the Middleburgh Little League’s 75th Anniversary being celebrated that day.
Introduced by Mayor Timothy Knight at the recommendation of the Middleburgh Little League and unanimously approved by Trustees at Monday night’s monthly board meeting, the resolution reads as follows:
Whereas, William Ansel-McCabe was a community leader in the Village of Middleburgh who served as Village Mayor, Village Trustee, Town Councilman, Middleburgh Little League President, Joint Recreation Commission President; and
Whereas, William Ansel-McCabe served this community selflessly and with dedication for decades, especially in support of local youth and recreational programming; and
Whereas, the Middleburgh Little League will be celebrating its 75th Anniversary on Saturday, August 15th, 2026, and they have requested that we honor William Ansel-McCabe’s life of service to coincide with their community celebration.
Therefore, Be it Resolved, that the Village of Middleburgh, New York, in recognition of William Ansel-McCabe’s service to our community and in special commemoration of his efforts supporting the Middleburgh Little League, has established August 15, 2026, as “William Ansel-McCabe Day,” and furthermore, Be it Resolved, that the Village of Middleburgh Board of Trustees thanks the Middleburgh Little League for everything they do in our community.
