At the March Village Meeting, the Village Board of Trustees approved Burke Innovations Corp’s bid of $19,900 to replace dilapidated sidewalks on Upper Railroad Avenue. The Board chose Burke Innovations Corp’s bid out of five received by the Village during the RFP process. The sidewalks will be replaced from the Fire House to Sheldon Avenue.

Following the bid award, DPW Superintendent Cole Keyser oversaw the removal of several trees that had caused the existing sidewalks to buckle by Pridemark Trees Services and consulted with Burke Innovations Corp’s timeline for this project. Burke Innovations Corp’s is scheduled to begin removing the existing sidewalk on Wednesday, May 27th with new sidewalks likely to be poured – weather pending – on Thursday, May 28th.

Stone will be placed where driveways are located along Railroad Avenue to ensure Village residents have ease of access to get in and out. Once the new sidewalks are poured, residents will have to avoid walking or driving on them for roughly 24-48 hours; free municipal parking is available either on Upper Railroad Avenue near the old Town Hall or at the M&S Railroad Depot during the curing period.
