Around the Village, Construction Updates, Village News|

The Village Board of Trustees unanimously voted at Monday night’s regular board meeting to approve improvements to Scribner Avenue and Sheldon Avenue. DPW Superintendent Cole Keyser presented the Board with three quotes, and ultimately the low bid was chosen.

Substantial work will be done on both Village streets, as Scribner Avenue and Sheldon Avenue will both be milled and paved. In addition, the Van Dyke Alleyway between the Middleburgh Hardware Store and The Country Cafe will be paved. The DPW will communicate with residents for when road construction is scheduled for later this summer.

Between cost of materials and labor, the estimated cost of road improvements this year will be $67,000. If our allotment of CHIPS funding remains flat at $63,500 – which will be known once the 2026-27 Budget is approved – the Village’s share will be $3,500. The Board is tentatively planning to make improvements to Baker Avenue and Railroad Avenue next year.
