The Village of Middleburgh has received several grants in recent weeks to support its Department of Public Works, Water Department, and Sewer Department.
- The DPW received a $2,500 PERMA Work Zone Safety Kit, which includes cones, safety vests, work zone signs, stop-slow paddles, hard hats, whistles, sign stands, and other essential materials to support the creation of a safe and effective work zone.
- The Water Department was selected by RCAP Solutions to receive one of its pre-approved USDA Technitrain Grants to GIS map the Village’s Water System, which will be beneficial not only in the event of water line breaks but future grant applications.
- The Sewer Department received a $50,000 New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation Engineering Planning Grant to study the feasibility of expanding municipal sewer lines on Grove Street, Maple Avenue, and surrounding neighborhoods.
“Entering 2025, the Village of Middleburgh made grant writing a top priority for our community — and it is starting to pay off,” commented Mayor Timothy Knight. He continued, “In addition to these successful grant efforts, we have also appointed a Grants Committee, applied for planning grants, and are ready to submit a federal grant application to make Village Hall handicapped accessible.”
