At the August Village Meeting, the Village Board of Trustees approved MSL Construction’s Sidewalk Bid of $29,000 to replace the dilapidated, existing sidewalks on Scribner Avenue. The Board chose MSL’s bid out of two received by the Village during the RFP process.
Following the bid award, Mayor Timothy Knight and MSL Construction consulted on the timeline for this project, with the contractor stating they would begin removing the existing sidewalk the week of August 18th in preparation for new sidewalks to be poured on August 20th – weather depending.
Stone will be placed where driveways are located along Scribner Avenue to ensure Village residents have ease of access to get in and out. Once the new sidewalks are poured, residents will have to avoid walking or driving on them for roughly 24-48 hours; free municipal parking is available either on Upper Railroad Avenue near the old Town Hall or at the M&S Railroad Depot during the curing period.
A letter is being mailed out to residents of Scribner Avenue with details about the upcoming construction work and updates will be provided as necessary.
“We are excited to continue repairing our dilapidated residential sidewalks in the Village of Middleburgh,” stated Mayor Knight after the sidewalk replacement bid was approved. “My priorities moving forward are Railroad Avenue and Clauverwie Road’s sidewalks, where they are porous spots that desperately need our attention.”
